Sustainability is central to everything we do at Anderton Board and Packaging. We view sustainability holistically, looking towards our 3 P’s as a roadmap for progress.
Our 3 P's are our anchor at Anderton Board when it comes to sustainability:
Products: All of our products are paper based, acting as an environmentally friendly alternative to the alternative harmful products around us. Therefore, we can assist our customers with solutions to help improve their environmental impact.
Partners: We understand that if we want to tackle climate change, we must not act alone! A series of networks and partnerships are fundamental in generating the resources and capabilities needed to act as quickly and efficiently as possible.
People: We nurture and champion our employees and communities, helping us generate significant results.
Paperboard is a highly recyclable material, with a recycling rate of 83% across Europe -nearly twice the size of the 42% recycling rate seen with plastic. This high recycling rate is the fundamental piece that fuels the circular economy.
Paperboard naturally breaks down over time without leaving harmful residues in the environment - reducing long-term pollution and waste.
Paperboard is primarily made from wood, a renewable source. In Europe, forests are growing by around 1,500 football pitches every single day.
The production and disposal of paperboard typically has a lower carbon footprint compared to plastic.
Paperboard contributes less waste to landfill, compared to non-recycled materials. This reduces associated environmental issues such as methane emissions.

Traceability systems help track the supply chain, providing transparency and accountability, while eco-labels and third-party audits further verify sustainable sourcing. Anderton Board and Packaging are a long-term holder of the FSC®, passing our recent audit with no NCRs - without a minor!
